Its in the scrapbook, just needed time to polish a few things off.
Again, its an 15 second exposure with F3, taken at night. since im wasn't planning on taking this shot, i used a chair as a tripod.
To be honest, i was bored, im not a far out arty person who conforms to a stereotype (although that itself is a cliche), and a friend wanted to see what stuff my Fuji S5500 does (i use it for outdoor moving shots, such as car rallys, and it has a fast shutter and reasonable zoom for cheap price). So sitting on this chair, the camera is arkwardly moved around into position.
Im not sure whether its to be considered art photography, but the definitions say that care was taken in lighting, focus etc. and that sums this up.
ooooh spooky, yet.... peaceful at the same time! i love how you have the vanishing point going on there! saw the rest of your and though it's small, it's fascinating and i'm sure you'll have plenty of amazing stuff for us to view again! keep up the fantastic work!
yeah, i only submit what i feel is a good photograph, or something that is more like a gallery, not a photoalbum...i see peoples gallery filled with shots of the same thing...one thing i don't particularly like is people who submit really poor quality photos (ie. wrong exposure, poor composition) and call them art photography...having the facility to adjust settings and compose a shot really gives stunning results. its a shame that people just don't take photography seriously, and then post garbage on here, which then draws away from the people who know what they're doing.
granted, i can understand that, but perhaps for some, art is sometimes a bit out of focus for them, regardless if others view it as worthless or not. i tend to put up here what I view as art to me, whether it is a bit out of focus or not. it is all a matter of perspective i suppose
yeah, i can see that you put time into your art...its clear that you compose your shots...but some people whip the camera out, take a random photo pointed in some random direction, and call it art...
When i was talking about the focus thing, i was meaning to say that having part of all of the object in focus gives a three-dimensional look to it, it also allows the viewer to see really good textures, which make a shot interesting...
ah good point, well noted and i'll take that into consideration when i do something like a closeup the next time! thanks for the pointer and the insight on your opinions! critiques are always a good thing to be considered, hence why i try toj understand what people are trying to say! thanks again!

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
